Angryfire Wisconsin governor tells absent senators: Return or 1,500 get laid off

(CNN) -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker on Thursday warned 14 absent lawmakers trying to stall his controversial budget bill to return to the state Capitol immediately to vote on the measure, or layoff notices will be sent to 1,500 public employees before the weekend.

"Unfortunately, if we don't have action by tomorrow we have a legal and moral obligation to start forewarning people," Walker said a Thursday night press conference.

The layoffs would take effect April 1, the governor said.

Walker's threat to start laying off workers capped the third week of a high-stakes drama playing out in Wisconsin.

All King Walker needs is a long mustache to twirl and a black cape. The man has zero morals or ethics.

Angryfire This scumbag needs to go down
Argh

Confirmed, Fox "news" makes you stupid

The ones you are noticing are more terrified than anything else. They are lashing out because they are comfortable; and to acknowledge what is happening is a threat to that comfort. Ignore them, for they are not the voices that will rise in the coming days, months and years. They are not the voices of our collected humanity. They are the old voices of fear and impotence. - Anonymous

I think he'll do it too, and it will be the beginning of the end of Scott Walker. People are going to go ballistic when there aren't enough cops or firefighters or teachers. Even St. Christie sez he's not going to mess with collective bargaining. Those 14 Wisconsin Dems and the hundreds of thousand protesters have been an inspiration.

That will really raise the stakes, if he actually does it.

Oh, he'll do it! He has to impress his base and doesn't care how many lives he destroys to enrich his wealthy patrons.

This is the start of the working man's revolution. they keep saying that there are not that many unions left. Well it doesn't matter because it looks like Gov. Walker did not pick the right battle. See collective bargaining is everywhere. The UAW,TEAMSTERS,AFL-CIO.AFSME,SEIU,SCREENWRITTER'S GUILD,and in places where unions don't exist. There is still someone who negotiates wages. It is was the unions who helped set the forty hour work week, scale wages for certain employment, training schools for high skilled labor, and all sorts of things that non union employees take advantage of. If you belong to a company that has a union and you are not a member of that union you still get the benefits that unions go in and bargain for. So to those who don't realize it,unions have paved the way for decent wages for the working class. Whether you are in one or not!!!!

Yeah, yeah, yeah..Wisconsin is in fiscal trouble. Then Walker shouldn't have given so many tax cuts to his campaign donors and now taking it out on the public workers of Wisconsin. He's acting like a huge asshole dictator that they've ousted in Egypt and would like to oust in Libya.

He's not backing down but doesn't like it when others don't back down either. He's the governor not King fucking Tut.

I bet Walker thinks he's only laying off Democrats, too.

I had a Teabagger tell me only Democrats , Blacks, and women work for the gubbamint, so fuck 'em if'n they get laid off.

It's a meme that soon be proven false as Republican state employees lose rights, pay, and benefits and start to get pissed off.

Interesting thought, Ikonoklast. Gives those Republicans something to think about. Do they really want what they think they want?
