The Tennessee state legislature actually has so much time on their hands that they can bother to draft a law forbidding Sharia in Tennessee (and there was SUCH a great danger of Sharia Law being adopted in Tennessee, dontcha know).

"includes religious practices such as feet washing and prayers - as treasonous"

OH yeah. Prayers are treasonous. Tell that to Tennessee's Baptists. If I were to suggest that, they'd come after me with assault rifles, but if a Republican-dominated state legislature uses language like that, then, it's fine and dandy.

It's a good thing we don't have any real problems in this country. Otherwise observers might be tempted to suggest our legislators are lazy bastards who have lost their damn minds.

I'm so confused. Granted, I never lived in the South, but I read all these books as an impressionable young person and I distinctly recall that there was a sect of Christians called "the foot washin' Baptists." Because, you know, Jesus had humbled himself to wash the weary feet of his disciples. So, they washed each others' feet on special holy days....

Those 'god fearing' states are creating their very own religious confederacy....and going against the Constitution in doing so. We've been there before with other words used as the standard bearer for their cause.

How has this festered for all these years?

That whole thing is very stupid. As if there is a real threat that Sharia law will become the law in any US jurisdiction. It's just a chance to show how bigoted they are.
