Some amici voted against the Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”),
Pub. L. No. 104-199, 110 Stat. 2419 (Sept. 21, 1996), while others voted for
it; still others were not in Congress when DOMA was enacted. But all be-lieve, today, that Section 3 of DOMA, which defines marriage for all feder-al purposes as “only a legal union between one man and one woman,” lacks
a rational relationship to any legitimate federal purpose and accordingly is
unconstitutional.

This is good news but it's going to be an uphill climb, especially if more Repugs are elected in 2012 -- which is why these whiners need to get off their asses, stop bitching and GET OUT AND VOTE!

I'm sure Aravosis is spinning it in some twisted way to make it seem like it's all up to Obama although even that jackass should know the President can't repeal an act of Congress....and Arianna Huffington is now saying she's not sure if she can bring herself to vote for Obama in 2012 for a whole bunch of nonsense reasons.

The so-called professional left are so full of themselves and completely out of touch with the average Democrat and liberals who all give Obama high marks or as Chris Cillizza pointed out in his column The Obama base problem myth "But, with the exception of the liberal pundit class (and some major donors), there doesn’t appear to be any broad scale erosion from the base coalition that helped Obama win in 2008."

Cornell Belcher, who conducts polling for the Democratic National Committee, put it better: "“There is a difference between the liberal pundit class of Washington, New York and [Los Angeles] and the mainstream, middle America base of progressive, younger voters who surged to the polls and changed the face of the electorate in 2008."
