"White House Threatens Veto Of House Vote Against Net Neutrality"

The White House Office of Management and Budget said Monday that it "strongly opposes" efforts by the House of Representatives to invalidate net neutrality rules, and threatened to veto any bill that would do so.

"If the President is presented with a Resolution of Disapproval that would not safeguard the free and open Internet, his senior advisers would recommend that he veto the Resolution," the OMB said in a statement.

In March, the House Communications and Technology Subcommittee approved a resolution that says that "Congress disapproves the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission relating to the matter of preserving the open Internet and broadband industry practices." The Subcommittee, passed the resolution by a vote of 15-8, and House Republicans are now pushing for a full vote.

No difference between President Obama and the Republicans they say? Well what is this veto threat then? And what about the myriad of other things our President has done for us? The professional left reminds me of a bunch of 5 year old children who, when given an inch, want to take a mile. Funny how they so quickly forget what things were like under the tyranny of GW. Would GW have vetoed this? Ummm, hell no.

Sorry to have jumped a bit off track w/my little rant... I just got done reading some things somewhere else that obliterated the good mood I began the day with. I really need to be more selective about what I read these days.

Thanks for posting this Cha. It'd be hard to find this kind of good news info amidst all of the irrational whinning I've seen elsewhere. What a haven of sanity this place is!
