Sen. Coash cancels public event with Rocker Ted Nugent

He didn’t have him in a stranglehold, but Rocker Ted Nugent certainly placed state Sen. Colby Coash in an awkward position.

Nugent’s controversial comments about President Obama drew unwanted attention to a scheduled public fundraiser in Nebraska for the Lincoln senator’s re-election campaign.

Coash has cancelled the public event and, instead, will host a private reception with Nugent in Omaha on May 10th.

“I’m hosting a private reception for people who want to meet Ted. They’re people that I know, not the general public,” Coash told the Jack and John Show on Nebraska Radio Network affiliate KLIN. “We’re going to move forward with it and put this behind us.”

He won't go away. Shouldn't he be locked up by now?

At heart, I truly believe he is a coward. He has proven as much by his Vietnam days. He will only do or say so much, right up to the very brink of actual peril. So he probably won't be locked up, but if things keep going this way for him he'll be more WASHED up than he is at present.

He won't be able to get a gig at a laundromat.

There's probably two reasons he did this. The first and most obvious is he's trying to duck the heat that's coming his way.

The second one, IMHO, is that behind closed doors, Nugent can say more offensive things about Obama and the people there to meet him can join in.

They can get all dressed up and eat fancy food behind closed doors in a fancy room, but it will be a pig trough just the same.

I totally agree. It's a very cowardly, duplicitous and oh so political move on the Senator's part. Trying to have it all ways. Just like....Mitt.
