What's up with the crazy weather?!! - azmouse - 04-23-2012 11:44 AM

A snowstorm hit the east coast early in the fall, then almost no snow for most of the winter, and now this in late April?? Too weird.

Quote:A powerful spring storm dumped snow across parts of the Northeast overnight -- including 10 inches in one town -- and cut power to more than 75,000 customers in Pennsylvania and upstate New York, with more snow expected during the day.

"Winter storm warnings are in effect from the higher elevations of West Virginia northward to western New York," the National Weather Service stated.

Most of the snow was falling across upstate New York, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, where the weather service was predicting the heaviest snowfall "of over an inch per hour" would occur through midday Monday.

Meanwhile we're having record breaking heat in the southwest.
Quote:The heat that enveloped the Valley on Sunday shattered a 63-year-old record, meteorologists said.

The National Weather Service said a high pressure system that's parked over the Southwest drove the temperature in Phoenix to 105 degrees by about 1:40 p.m.

The hottest temperature previously recorded on April 22 was 99 degrees in 1949, said Weather Service meteorologist Dan Leins.

Leins said temperatures should start dropping today, but not by much.

"It's probably going to be right around 100," he said. "The record's 102, so it will be near record."

The whole country has experienced weird weather this winter and spring. But don't let anyone mention climate change!

I know that many on the whacko right would still deny it, but I think one of the initial errors was that it was called global warming, primarily because said idiots could -- and have -- used the big snowstorms and such to say, "See, global warming doesn't exist!"

Climate change is, I think, much more accurate.
